Owls to "Plague Survivors"
Happy Christmas! I thought you might need a bit of cheer in this holiday season, so here are some homemade cookies.

Enjoy! And if you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to ask, I'd be happy to help with anything that I can.

Sincerely,
Alice Proulx

Happy Christmas to you, too! Thank you for the cookies! They're amazing.

I suppose I should introduce myself to you in return! I'm Hermione Puckle, a fifth year Gryffindor. It's nice to meet you, Alice!

Sincerely,
Hermione Puckle

Dear Hermione,

It's nice to meet you, too. I'm glad you liked the cookies.

Welcome to Gryffindor, too. I'm a Gryffindor prefect, sixth year. Are you settling into the castle well? Everything can be confusing at first, so if you need a tour, I would be happy to give you one when I return.

Sincerely,
Alice

Dear Alice,

That's really sweet of you to offer, but I have been going here for years explored the castle last evening and I think I can find everything.

I'm just curious...do you know of any good books on time travel? I'm a bit of a time enthusiast.

Sincerely,
Hermione

Dear Hermione,

Well, my offer still stands if you ever need a guide, but I'll admit that exploration can be much more fun.

I'm afraid that I don't really know much about time travel, though. I would suggest talking to Madam Pince about it. I think she probably knows every book there is in the library, and then some. I'm sorry that I can't be of any better help, I've just never really thought much about the subject.

Sincerely,
Alice

Dear Alice,

Thank you. I agree--I love exploring, especially the library.

I'm Muggle-born, and one of the things about magic that still surprises me is time travel. I've always wondered what it would be like to meet my parents when they were my age--or to meet a future child. It's not as much fun as I thought it'd be.

Madam Pince probably knows a good book. I did some...searching in the library today while waiting for a friend, and there seems to be a wide variety available.

You mentioned you're a sixth year. Just curious...what courses do you take?

Sincerely,
Hermione

Dear Hermione,

It's pretty amazing what kinds of books you can find, exploring in the library. I found a really amazing book of charms in my third year.

I never really thought about time travel that way, I guess. The most I've ever thought about it has been wondering what would happen if someone went back in time and changed the past, like in books. It just never seemed that interesting to me, but I think it would be interesting to meet my parents when they were my age, or to meet a future son or daughter of mine. Just to ask what it's like to be a teenager in that era.

I'm planning to become a Healer, so I'm taking all the classes that are necessary for that career: Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, and Transfiguration.

Sincerely,
Alice

Dear Alice,

Yes...the library is amazing.

Well, he's here. Yes, meeting a future child would be interesting. I'm trying to change the past right now, actually, and it's pretty difficult. But...I don't think trying to change the past would be much fun.

What about being an Auror? Ah, a Healer! That's a very interesting job. I wish you luck in your courses.

I suppose I'll be seeing you around. Thanks again for offering to give me a tour.

Sincerely,
Hermione

Dear Alice,

Thank you so much for the cookies. They are the best that I've ever had. This tin just made the day a lot better.

Dear Neville,

You're welcome. I'm very glad that they made your day better. Are you settling into the castle all right? I see you're a Gryffindor sixth year? I am, too. I'd be happy to show you around the castle, or help you find your classes. The castle can be really confusing if you're not used to it. I'm sure that Frank, my boyfriend, would be happy to help, too, especially since you'll be rooming with him.

Let me know if you need anything, at all. I'm more than happy to help in any way that I can.

Sincerely,
Alice

Dear Mom Alice,

I am settling into the castle. It feels very much like home already. I would love to have a tour of the castle. See, I tend to be rather forgetful so you might need to remind me of things more than once. I would appreciate any help that either you or Dad Frank could give me.

Thanks again,
Neville

Dear Neville,

That's good. The castle does seem rather homey after a while. Especially the Gryffindor common room. One of my favourite things to do on a cold winter day is to curl up in a comfy chair in the common room, near the fire, with my kitten and a good book. And with Frank, too

Anyway, I'll gladly show you around Hogwarts when I get back. Though I'm sure you're not that forgetful. You should give yourself more credit! But I'm happy to provide any help that I can.

Also, you're welcome, again.

Sincerely,
Alice

Dear Alice,

Thank you for the biscuits. They are very good. I'm trying not to eat them all at once. No, I'm kidding. I'm only eating one after each meal. Or maybe I'm not kidding, since I'm not eating them all at once. I'm not sure. I do like them, so thank you again.

Thanks,
Luna Lovegood Lamb

Dear Luna,

You're quite welcome. I think that, since you're not eating them all at once, it would mean that you're not kidding about trying not to eat them all at once. I am glad that you like them, though.

Sincerely,
Alice

Thanks for the cookies. They were good. If you have extras, I can take them off your hands. The icing was the best. And the taste. Sweet and yummy. I liked them.

Dear Vincent,

You're welcome. I'm glad that you liked them. We don't have any extras right now, because my brothers ate the last ones, but if we bake any more before I return to school, I'll certainly keep you in mind.

Sincerely,
Alice

Dear Alice,

Madame Pomfrey kept your cookies for me and I just received them a few days ago. I wished to express my gratitude for your kindness and to wish you the best in the New Year.
